Due to the current coronavirus epidemic we regret that Arniston House and grounds will be closed to visitors until further notice.  Our priority is to protect our staff and visitors.  We greatly look forward to welcoming you back in the future. We urge members of the public not to drive to Arniston in their vehicles for the purpose of exercise.  Please follow government advice to stay home and stay safe. https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

An Essential Scottish
Mansion House.

Home of the Dundas Family for over 400 years, this magnificent mansion house set in acres of beautiful policies (parkland) is located just 11 miles from Edinburgh.

We invite you to visit Arniston and admire the intricate stucco work and portraits by contemporary Scottish artists such as Sir Henry Raeburn and Alexander Nasmyth.  Birthplace to Henry Viscount Melville and two Lord Presidents of the Court of Session, a visit to Arniston will make for a truly memorable experience.

The family and staff look forward to welcoming visitors and guests back when the crisis has passed. Until then for the safety of the family and residents the House and Grounds remain closed. We very much look forward to the day government guidelines allow us to re-open the house and grounds for tours. We will update all as soon the restrictions have been lifted. In the meantime we kindly ask everyone to please keep to pathways indicated and not to enter kept garden areas. It is our wish that we can all responsibly enjoy the peace and beauty of the estate.
